Time to get excited peeps! Word is, The Dark Knight Rises will finally be releasing its third and latest trailer on May 4, attaching it to the  new Avengers movie.  News of the trailer attachment reportedly comes from the WB Exhibitor site, so it’s looking pretty official.  This isn’t the first time we’ve seen a DC Comics trailer played in front of a Marvel movie, as  you might recall, the third trailer for The Dark Knight  was played in front of Iron Man back in 2008.

It’s been nearly one year since Warner Bros. first launched The Dark Knight Rises official website in May 2011.  TDKR’s viral marketing campaign utilized encrypted audio that sounded like chanting.  Once fans deciphered the code, it provided a link to a Twitter page where the first official image of Bane was revealed.

Additional marketing materials have since surfaced, including a prologue trailer featuring Bane.  The upcoming trailer may reveal a lot more of what’s gonna be happening in the conclusion to Nolan’s trilogy. There’s long been speculation as to what’s actually going to take place in what is considered one of the most anticipated films for 2012.

How will Nolan wrap up the trilogy? Well, that’s anyone’s guess, and for now fans will continue to speculate until they finally get some solid confirmation. Just how true to the comics will the movie be? Will Tom Hardy’s Bane break the Bat? What role in the grand scheme of things will Anne Hathaway’s Catwoman play? Is  Marion Cotillard actually Talia al Ghul? And where does  Joseph Gordon-Levitt fit in the picture? The questions are endless, and at least we don’t have to wait too long until we’ll finally start getting some answers.

In the mean time here’s the exciting second trailer.

The Dark Knight Rise 2nd Trailer.

Are you excited?
