Special K: ‘Teen Wolf’ Recap: Season 2 so far…
Mr St. James was quite pleased with my little True Blood recap, and since I’ve just finished watching Episode 4 of Teen Wolf . I thought yippee something else to recap. Since season 2 is already up to its 4th episode, I think for this post I’ll just settle with recapping what has happened so far….
Teen Wolf has decided that they’re a serious show about werewolves, by creating a very The Girl With a Dragon Tattoo (remake) opening sequence. Throw in dramatic music, sexy imagery and you wouldn’t know that this show is about a teenage boy dealing with being a werewolf.
See what I mean? It’s all so seriously dramatic don’t you think?
So where to begin well Tyler Posey’s Scott McCall got a hair cut!
In a very Romeo and Juliet twist Scott and Allison Argent (Crystal Reed) are forbidden from seeing each other by her Daddy. As it turns out the Argent family are bunch of crazy werewolf hunters. However they have little naughty rendezvous which means we get to see a lot of Tyler posey in his boxer shorts.
Colton Haynes’ Jackson Whittemore ends up in the river. Someone really shouldn’t drink so much.
Turns out he was bitten by Derek Hale ( Tyler Hoechlin), how that results with him ending up in the river I am still yet to work out, however seeing Colton Haynes drenched in water is always a good thing.
Jackson wants to be a werewolf, but alas something isn’t quite right with him. So he films himself in the hope of finding answers.
This just means we get to watch him sleeping shirtless like a dirty little prowler. Jackson wakes up to find that he’s still a real boy and that is body is resisting the Derek’s werewolf bite. He has a bit of a tanty here and there. I personally hate having body hair, but he seems to be dying for it. Each to their own. He later finds out that someone has altered the camera footage, making it into a loop of him sleeping, and the plot thickens.
Seriously doesn’t anyone know how to look their houses up at night?
Allison’s grandfather comes to town. Turns out Grandpa Argent is quite the douche and doesn’t stick to some code they are meant to abide by. He likes to kill werewolves, and has no problem sticking pointy objects into Scott after he found out he was a werewolf. All in all Grandpa Argent is a psychotic prick!
So since there’s some new werewolf hunters in town, Derek who is now the new Alpha has started creating a pack of his own in defense of this new threat. He also smiles a lot more this season.
He picks some of the high school’s top social rejects and turns them into lean mean hairy fighting machines.
One of them used to be a Greek god.
And one of the others he makes out with.
Turns out she’s a Beta and is saving her for someone else. Werewolf breeding? Sounds sexual in a National Geographic kind of way.
Stiles (Dylan O’Brian)… well Stiles is just Stiles, that’s all that really needs to be said about him. There’s a bit of a love hate relationship he seems to be sharing with Derek. Maybe the writers are opening up for a gay story line. However, this is highly unlikely.
This is mainly because Stiles is madly in love with Lydia Martin (Holland Roden). Hasn’t he heard of open relationships? Anyways back to Lydia. She’s had it a bit rough. After being bitten by a werewolf at the end of last season, she spends the first episode virtually running around naked in the forest. I did that once, but i blamed the magic mushrooms.
Since then, the poor girl has been going a little bonkers with smashing mirrors and weird dreams. Which now brings me to what has been called The Abomination.
Talk about only a face a mother could love. The Abomination is some weird reptilian creature that seems to like pissing both sides off, and seems to be doing a good job of it. With this new appearance one can only speculate if it has a connection to Jackson or Lydia? *Insert suspenseful music here*
Episode 4 finishes with Grandpa Argent sticking a knife into Scott while threatening to do the same to his dear mommy if he refuses to do something for him a bit later down the track. We’re yet to find out what that will be, but knowing the psychopath that he is, it can’t be too good.
So there we have it, Teen Wolf Season 2 so far.
I’ll be back next week with a recap of episode 5.
