Shea LaBeouf bares all in the provocative new Sigur Rós video ‘Fjögur píanó’
One of my favourite bands Sigur Rós recently asked a dozen filmmakers to each choose a song from the Icelandic band’s new album, Valtari, and shoot a video inspired by the music. With no instructions from the band, each director received $1000 budget to make the clips. With complete creative freedom, filmmaker Alma Har’el delivered quite the provocative clip featuring dead butterflies, lollipops that lit up and at time naked performances from actor Shia LaBeouf and actress Denna Thomsen.
The Israeli born filmmaker suggests her clip for “Fjögur píanó“ , “is about addiction to drugs, or sex, or anything–and how you get stuck in a cycle.” Now if you’re wondering what all the butterflies mean, she explains that they symbolize “very beautiful things that die very fast,”
“For me, it’s about not knowing how to get out of something without causing pain to somebody else,” the director says, “For other people it might be about candy and fish. I’m down with that.”
Check out the beautiful and rather hypnotizing video below
I personally think this is Shea LaBeouf’s best role yet!
What did you think of the video?
