Yay, finally a trailer for Thor: The Dark World has been released, and boy does it look good! I won’t lie, I loved the original and this sequel looks all kinds of good. Not to mention Chris Hemsworth with long blonde hair. *Drool*

Here’s what IMDb has to say say about the upcoming sequel:

“When Jane Foster is targeted by the denizens of the dark world of Svartalfheim, Thor sets out on a quest to protect her at all costs.”

I’ve got pretty high hopes for this film and what I really like about Thor is he’s a god! He didn’t come by his super powers by chance. He was born with it. So I utterly love the fantasy aspect to this character and how he interacts with our reality.

Give me a masculine guy with long hair any day and I’ll treat them like a god!

Thanks to Bryan Singer’s Twitter, we’ve gotten another look at X-Men: Days of Future Past, this time giving us a first look at Oscar-winner Halle Berry as Storm. Is it me or has Storm’s hair got shorter with each movie? You have to admit Berry is looking pretty damn good as Storm. Totally loving the newly updated costume. They’ve also manage to cover Berry’s baby bump quite well, don’t you think?

The film is yet to begin shooting in Montreal, so I assume this is probably from a makeup and costume test for the actress.

The newest flick in the franchise tells the story of a dystopian alternative future in which mutants are incarcerated in internment camps. So, it makes sense that Storm’s suit is to be a rugged departure from the sleek leather ones worn in the original films.

I may not be a qualified medical practitioner, but one thing I can tell you is, sticking an eel up your anus would be a terrible idea.

A man from the Guangdong province of China was rushed to the hospital after reportedly sticking a 20-inch Asian swamp eel up his anus. Allegedly the man claimed he got the brilliant idea from watching a porno in which one of the actors did the same thing, however for this man the experience wasn’t quite erotic as he hoped for. The eel at through the man’s colon and large intestine where it ended up finding itself lodged with no where else to go. 

One doctor had this to say, “The eel was simply trying to find its way out.” After some pretty extensive surgery, the eel was eventually freed, but died shortly after. No word yet as to whether animal cruelty charges have been filled against the man, but one thing is for sure, he’s learnt not to stick living creatures up his butt.

Now I know there’s some size queens out there, but 20-inches seems a little bit of an overkill, don’t you think?

Marvel has released the first poster for Thor: The Dark World, the upcoming sequel to Kenneth Branagh’s 2011 film that launched the comic superhero to the big screen with surprising success.

This sequel is directed by  Alan Taylor, who makes his feature film debut after his astonishing work on HBO’s The Sopranos and Game of Thrones. So it goes without saying, people have some pretty high hopes for this film. Not to mention, watching Chris Hemsworth wave his hammer and kicking ass is always enjoyable.

Considering the film is set to be released later this year, I’d be right in saying a trailer shouldn’t be too far off!

I’ve been so busy these last couple of days, but it just wouldn’t be right not posting the news that our  NZ LGBTI brothers and sisters now will have marriage equality. With a majority of MPs voting in favour of the nation’s Definition of Marriage Amendment Bill, now many same-sex couples in New Zealand will soon be walking down the aisle and taking their vows.

With a packed public gallery at the Parliament House in Wellington, many watched on as the country’s lawmakers placed their conscience vote, deciding to support the reform that would allow marriages between same-sex couples. The final results, 77 in favour and 44 against.

And here is the very moment that the bill passed.

Now that the legislation has passed, it means that same-sex couples will be able to legally wed in a matter of weeks once the new law comes into effect. What also excites me about this law reform is it also means an already married people who legally change their gender will no longer have to divorce. Yay for inclusiveness and seeing beyond the gender!

Such exciting times. If only Australia would catch up!

New Zealand is the 13th nation to approve Marriage Equality!

First he was screwed over by his best mate in the Social Network, then beaten and rose up as a Superhero in The Amazing Spider-Man, and now British actor Andrew Garfield is speaking out for marriage equality.

In an interview with The Times, The Amazing Spider-Man actor was reflecting on starring in the gay-marriage themed play Beautiful Thing, when he expressed his confusion as to why people could be against equality for same-sex couples.

“[I oppose] the injustice of how homosexuals are treated, the imbalance that still exists in terms of rights and judgements,” Garfield explained.

The actor then added, “Of course I’m in favour of marriage equality. Same-sex couples should have the same rights as anyone else.

“There is no argument against equality. How can anyone argue against compassion and understanding?”

Garfield appeared in Jonathan Harvey’s Beautiful Thing opposite Gavin Brocker and Leo Bill at the Sound Theatre in London.

On the play, he had this to say, “Jonathan wrote such a powerful play, the simplicity of it is that it’s a profound, beautiful story of how love can transform you – gay, straight, bi, lesbian, whoever.”
The adorable actor is currently getting his web-slingers back into action during the production of The Amazing Spider-Man 2 in which he stars alongside both his on and off-screen girlfriend Emma Stone and Jamie Foxx. The film is set to hit the big screen in May 2014.

Do you ever find yourself thinking about what happened to those child stars you remembered watching when you were younger? Every so often you hear a story that warms your heart. Do you remember 80′s sitcom Who’s the Boss and little Jonathan Bower played by Danny Pintauro? Or perhaps you remember him better in the Stephen King novel turned movie Cujo? He played the little boy who along with his mother was hunted by the rabid St. Bernard called Cujo? Well he’s now all grown up with some pretty awesome news to share.

Well back in 1997, Pintauro made headlines coming out, and now he’s done it again as news has surfaced that he is engaged to his boyfriend of one year, Wil Tabares

Us Weekly reports Tabares reportedly proposed to the now 37 year-old restaurant manager on Wednesday while the couple were enjoying their vacation in Palm Springs, celebrating their one year anniversary.

“He made a video, and in the video held up the box,” Pintauro tells the publication, “I looked up and he had it in his hand!”

Oh isn’t that all kinds of cute?

The couple both reside in Las Vegas, however it looks like their upcoming nuptials will see them leaving the sate of Nevada, which currently doesn’t allow same-sex marriages to move to California once Prop 8 is completely overturned.

Prop 8 is a California constitutional amendment that was passed in November 2008, that stated, “only marriage between a man and a woman is valid or recognised in California.” Currently, the legality of the amendment is being reviewed with a decision of the matter to be reached by late June. If all then goes according to plan, this newly engaged couple will then relocate and tie the knot.

Snoop Lion aka Snoop Dogg has recently claimed that homosexuality may never be seen as “acceptable” in rap music.

During July last year, singer Frank Ocean shocked the world by opening up about his sexuality through a post on his Tumblr revealing that his first love had been a man.When Snoop was asked by The Guardian Ocean’s public was a sign of progress in rap music, Snoop suggested that the current “masculine attitude of hip-hop still made it difficult in much the same way as being openly gay in sports.

“He’s a singer. It’s acceptable in the singing world, but in the rap world I don’t know if it will ever be acceptable because rap is so masculine.” Snoop said of Ocean

“It’s like a football team,” he adds, “You can’t be in a locker room full of motherfucking tough-ass dudes, then all of a sudden say, ‘Hey, man, I like you.’ You know, that’s going to be tough.”

Snoop implies that being openly gay in rap music and sport does come with its fair share of troubles. However, he did want to clarify his acceptance of gay people, “I don’t have a problem with gay people. I got some gay homies. Yeah, for real. People who were gay used to get beat up. It was cool to beat up on gay people back then. But in the 90s and 2000s, gay is a way of life. Just regular people with jobs. Now they are accepted, not classified. They just went through the same things we went through as black.”

As many of you might already know, production went underway on a remake of the 1976 Stephen King horror movie classic Carrie, with this new version starring Kick-Ass’ Chloë Grace Moretz as the titular character and Julianne Moore as the bat-shit crazy mother Magaret. As you can see from the trailer below, this mother and daughter relationship is all kinds of messed up. 

Those of you familiar with the original 1976 film starring Sissy Spacek, should be aware of the basic storyline… a young girl with telekinetic powers is abused by her religiously fanatical mother at home while being terrorized by her classmates at school. Once pushed too far, Carrie loses her shit and all Hell breaks loose.

I’m a fan of both the 1976 film and Stephen King’s original novel. What I’ve been lead to believe is, where the 1976 strayed away from the novel, this adaptation allegedly sticks closer to the source material. I adored Chloë Grace Moretz in Let Me In, and the young actress is no stranger to playing characters with dark undertones, so I’m sure her portrayal of Carrie is not going to disappoint.  Oh, and lets not forget the wondrous talented Julianne Moore, she already gives me goosebumps as the psychotic mother. So fingers crossed this turns out not to be a crappy remake like they so often turn out to be.

Something makes me think the prom scene is going to be EPIC!

I’m all kinds of excited for X-Men: Days of Future Past, it’s one of my favourite story arcs in the X-Men comics, along with the Dark Phoenix Saga. It’s potential for the big screen adaptation is bloody amazing, however the potential to royally screw it up is just as equally amazing.

I adored what Nicholas Hoult brought to the character of Beast, and now Bryan Singer has tweeted a picture of half of Beast’s face in Days of Future Past, while it’s not drastically different it does however show more of a human side to the blue character. So I’m all for that.

However I still worry about the film. It could be all kinds of brilliant, or it could end up as the heretic mess that was X-Men 3. I’m just hoping Singer doesn’t make the same mistake as Brett Ratner by not using the comic’s source material to its full potential.

If you’re like me, and still haven’t finished mourning the death of Steven R. McQueen character of Jeremy in The Vampire Diaries,  according to some recent news it looks like you might not have to.

Word along the grapevine is Jeremy and several other deceased characters are set to return to Mystic Falls and pretty damn soon.  *Big sigh of relief!* While Jeremy (Steven R. McQueen) may have been killed by Silas, and then his body cremated with the Gilbert House at the hands of Elena (Nina Dobrev), it looks like the hottest is set to return before the end of the season.  In what form is anyone’s guess.  But considering Silas is determined to raise the dead, something makes me think Jeremy won’t be the only familiar face we will see popping up.
I have a few ideas of what will possibly see him returning.  First, Bonnie (Kat Graham)  might be successful for  change in her magic antics and succeed at tearing down the wall between the world’s of the dead and the living. Secondly, Jeremy might be the next persona Silas decides to take on in his quest to mess with everyone’s mind. And thirdly,  Jeremy might be seen in a flashback similar to his parents during the season 3 finale. No matter what form the cute Gilbert brother reappears as,  something makes me think it will be of some pretty damn importance in returning Elena’s humanity.

Let the speculation begin!
