Christians protest Lady GaGa’s ‘Born This Way Ball’ in Seoul.
As many of you peeps know, Lady GaGa is currently in South Korea preparing to launch her Born This Way Ball tour on April 27th, while many thousands of fans will be in attendance, Seol’s most devout protestants won’t be joining them. If they had their own way, they’d stop everyone from seeing GaGa
Raw Story is reporting that approximately 300 Protestant church members plan to gather in downtown Seoul on Sunday night to hold a group prayer against the concert.
“We will pray to God that the concert will not be realised so that homosexuality and pornography will not spread around the country” said prayer organiser, Kang Ju-Hyun. Kang leads a group called Alliance for Sound Culture in Sexuality and said that other major church groups would be joining his campaign by holding protests around the Seoul headquarters of Hyundai Card, the concert organiser.
Last week, the Alliance for Sound Culture In Sexuality had set up “street banners” around Seoul, accusing GaGa of spreading messages of sin and sodomy with her “lewd lyrics and performances.” While the banners were removed by the city, it was only a partial defeat for the Alliance, as they had already succeeded in limiting concert attendees to fans 18 years of age and older.
I suppose not everyone likes Lady GaGa, but I personally believe it should be an individual’s choice of what they choose to listen to and watch, not some fundamentalist organisation. Just say’n.
