Cheated Hearts, Brisbane’s newest queer friendly event launches this Saturday!!!
This Saturday the 6th of October a fresh new queer friendly event kicks of at Fortitude Valley’s night club Barsoma. Cheated Hearts is the newest party to burst onto the Brisbane scene and to celebrate the launch, the organisers has secured Fingertips hot on the heels as a finalist in the nation wide She Can DJ competition. Fingertips has been making quite the footprint in the electronic scene, and working her magic on the turn tables doesn’t end there, not only is she in the middle of producing her own music, she’s quite the MC and rumour has it, attendees might be privileged to a bit of open MIC action. Accompanied Fingertips for the exciting launch is a few well-known Brisbane faces among the alternative club scene including Jane Doe, Frankie Trouble and DJ Mikey.
Jane Doe kick started her career as a DJ in Sydney, Djing at numerous iconic venues including World Bar, The Empire, Ruby Tramp and Titanium Bar and that’s just to name a few. Jane Doe is known for her sets that push the boundaries between Indie, electro and hip hop and this Saturday will be no different.
Frankie Trouble may have only made her debut in 2009, but she has without a doubt built a credible reputation Djing at some of Brisbane’s well known queer friendly events including Pistol Whipped, Qsesh, Show Your Bones, Cut & Taste while also spinning tracks at some of Brisbane’s iconic venues including GOMA, Limes Rooftop Bar, X&Y, The Wickham Hotel and many more. Frankie Trouble is quite eclectic when it comes to the tracks she chooses to spin and has built a reputation for being outside of the mainstream.
DJ Mikey is a name known to many who haunt Ric’s Bar on a regular basis. Mainstream does not sit well with this DJ and regularly spinning the decks at one of Brisbane’s most iconic alternative Bars, it comes as no surprise why. This is one DJ who knows how to get the dance floor pumping without selling her soul playing the typical commercial often heard blaring in most of the clubs in Brisbane.
With such an awesome lineup of DJs and the excitement surrounding a new event, this Saturday is expected to go off. Gay, straight and everything in between, this will be a night not to be missed. So be sure to drop in Barsoma on Constance Street and be part of something new and fresh.
Tickets are $10 with the night kicking off at 9pm.
